Attendance & Level Placement Policy
Absences & Tardiness
All students are expected to come to class regularly and on time. Chronic absences and tardiness will hamper the progress of a dancer as well as the class progress as a whole.
Dancers will not be allowed to enter the classroom if they are more than TEN minutes late to their class start time.
Level Placement
A dancer’s ability and developmental maturity are carefully considered when being placed into a level. Artistic Faculty also considers grouping dancers together that need to work on the same concepts and steps. Students will undergo regular evaluation so that any adjustment in level can be made.
Dance levels have no relation to what school year a student is currently in.
Civic Dance Center reserves the right to suspend or dismiss any student whose attitude, attendance, or conduct is found to be disruptive or unsatisfactory.
Civic Dance Center is located at 7840 Brimhall Rd. in Bakersfield, CA. Civic Dance Center houses three state of the art studios. All three of our studios’ wood floors are sprung from their concrete infrastructures by a system of rubber wedges on a wooden frame. Our floors are engineered in this fashion as a safeguard against injuries.
