Dear Civic Dance Center Families,

As many of you know, Civic Dance Center and Bakersfield City Ballet share something very special – a commitment to nurturing young artists and building a vibrant arts community right here in Bakersfield.

On April 17 at 7:30pm, Bakersfield City Ballet will present The Sleeping Beauty at the Historic Bakersfield Fox Theater, and I would personally love to invite every Civic family to attend.

Many of the dancers you will see on stage are your children’s teachers and classroom assistants. They are the role models your dancers look up to each week – demonstrating what dedication, discipline, and artistry can grow into. Seeing them perform at a high level on a grand stage is incredibly inspiring for young dancers and gives them a vision of what is possible in their own future.

Supporting Bakersfield City Ballet also means supporting arts culture in our city. When we fill the theater, we send a message that classical ballet belongs here – and that our community values excellence in the arts.

To make it easier for our Civic families to attend, we are offering a special discounted ticket rate available for purchase directly at the studio. Tickets purchased at Civic save approximately $8 per ticket compared to online pricing. The seats we have available are premium locations, though quantities are limited.

I encourage you to make this a special night out for your dancer – even if they are not in the show. Experiencing a full-length classical ballet live at the Fox Theater can be a transformative moment for a young artist.
