Dear Civic Families,

It’s time for one of our favorite weeks of the year! Beginning Monday, October 26, dancers are welcome to wear a costume to class throughout the last week of October. We always love seeing the creativity our students and staff bring to Costume Week, and we can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!

A few important reminders to help keep Costume Week fun and safe for everyone:

  • Dress to dance: Costumes should be comfortable and appropriate for movement and dancing.
  • Secure headpieces and masks: These must be firmly secured, just as they would be for Nutcracker or Gala performances, and must not obstruct the dancer’s vision.
  • Keep it family-friendly: Please avoid gore or overly frightening costumes. Remember that younger dancers are around the school during all class times, and we want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome.

A quick reminder: All classes will meet as regularly scheduled on Saturday morning, October 31 (Halloween).

Thank you for helping us make Costume Week a fun, creative, and safe tradition for our entire Civic family. We look forward to seeing all the wonderful costumes!

Happy Halloween!
