Hi Nutcracker Family,

We have been getting questions about what kind of skirt/slip or petticoat to bring to rehearsals. We do have petticoats that the dancers may borrow. In previous years, sometimes the petticoats had not made it out of storage for the first few rehearsals so we’d ask dancers to wear a long character skirt or dance skirt to practice with as several bits of choreography have them holding or swishing their skirts.

We do understand that dancers/parents also like to purchase their own petticoats however to have as their own. The one we recommend is the Malco Modes Samantha petticoat in white. We like this one because it is soft and fluffy and it usually has several waistband channels so that the petticoat can be shortened or lengthened to grow with the dancer through the years. However, one of the reason we continue to offer the petticoats to borrow is that the supply chain for petticoats is very limited and goes in and out of availability.

I know some parents have also been able to find other similar petticoats that have worked.

Thank you!
