Civic Dance Center and Bakersfield City Ballet are proud to present a full season of Young People’s Concerts, designed to introduce children to the magic of live dance and music. These performances are created especially for student audiences and are a wonderful field trip opportunity for local schools and classes.

Each year, thousands of schoolchildren experience The Nutcracker through this program—and this season, we are thrilled to expand the experience with three exciting productions:

• Hansel & Gretel: The Crone’s Coven – October 9, 2025, Historic Bakersfield Fox Theater
• The Nutcracker – December 11 & 12, 2025, Dignity Health Convention Center & Theater
• Sleeping Beauty – April 17, 2026, Historic Bakersfield Fox Theater

With morning performances offered for each production, teachers can give their students an unforgettable introduction to the performing arts.

These concerts are a vital part of our community outreach mission, making dance accessible to young audiences and planting seeds of inspiration that can last a lifetime.
